This is a full bolt in T56 Magnum-F swap kit for the MKIV Supra. This is perfectly setup for a 1993-1998 Toyota Supra. The shifter sits perfectly in the factory location. The factory manual tunnel will not need any modifications other than slight hammer tapping at the reverse lockout area and the front of the shifter hole area. If you are auto-to-manual swapping you will need to trim the factory auto tunnel.

Driveshaft and clutch is optional, but recommended to make this an easy bolt-in experience.  

If you add up the cost on all these parts, you will see that I am competitive with big name speed shops like Summit and Jegs. But, the difference is... I put it all together in a one-stop-shop package and provide you with the little details they don't... like every nut and bolt needed, and actual product knowledge and support to go with it, something those big box stores will never have! We are doing a lot more than just selling you a box of parts!

For example, in this MKIV supra pictured, the T56 is unknown to the naked eye, everything looks factory. That is the goal, to make it look like a factory car but hold up to high horsepower engine setups.

Back in 2016, I ran into an issue. I loved stick shift racing... but the factory Toyota 6-speed V160 parts became discontinued. I couldn't rebuild my factory transmission... So I had to find a solution!

I started looking for alternatives...I found the TREMEC T56 Magnum, and saw quite a few big power domestic cars were using it. But at that time no import guys were using it. I decided the T56 Magnum was the best choice for me. When I put that first T56 in my car... I was ridiculed by the Supra crowd...They said "why would you put a Camaro transmission in your supra". But man, how times have changed! Over the years building these kits, and all the improvements I made... It's now easy to see that my GR700 kit is the most popular manual transmission option. It is the now regarded as the "go to" transmission kit for people that want a fun car to drive with high horsepower capacity and lasting durability!

Do I need to index my cast aluminum bellhousing?

Yes, it is very important for reliability. While initially I was hoping this would not be required, we found that the OEM engine blocks are not super consistent in machine tolerances. To keep your transmission covered under TREMEC's warranty we highly recommend doing the index process.

That is really a question for you to decide, but I can tell you that I sell 99 close ratio tranmissions to every 1 wide. Read my article for why it is that much more popular.

What is the final drive or rear gear ratio to match up to my T56 magnum?

The sweet-spot range final drive gearing for most T56 setups is from 3.7-4.30 usually. This depends a lot on your driving style, your horsepower, and your rear tire height.

Which Transmission will best fit my chassis? Magnum, Magnum-F or Magnum XL?

If you are swapping into a car where I do not build a complete kit already, you can use one of our universal kits for the Chevy LS, Ford Coyote, Toyota 2JZ/1JZ, Honda K-series, Rotary 13B/20B, Toyota UZ V8, and Nissan VG30. Then use the options to select which trans will fit based on a measurement you will take from the back of the engine block to the center of your shifter hole in the tunnel. It's important to get the transmission correct, because its heavy and expensive to ship back if its not the best fit.

Universal Transmission Kits

Should I choose the wiring pigtail kit or the T56 wiring harness for my build?

The shortest and easiest answer is that if you have a capable stand-alone engine management system (Haltech, Motec, etc etc) and you have available inputs and outputs then you should just get the pigtails. You will need to use your ECU to convert the speed signal from the T56 pulses, to your stock speedometer pulses. And then use the speed input to unlock your reverse

If you are on a stock ECU or an ECU where you do not have any extra/available inputs/outputs then you should get the harness. The harness is nice, because its built in module will auto-unlock the reverse solenoid when it detects the transmission speed is less than 4 mph. It also provides provisions for the reverse lights and keeps all transmission related wiring in a clean and simple installation package.

The T56 normally is a different overall length than whatever transmission you have in your car currently, so in most situations (other than a f-body camaro basically) you will likely need a new driveshaft or will need to modify your driveshaft.
